Zero Carbon Village

We power organizations to drive climate action by embedding sustainability into legal documents and processes.

Towards a low carbon & resilient future

We are a collective of lawyers and professionals committed to facilitating the transition to net-zero emissions and enhancing climate resilience. We empower organisations by providing free, expertly drafted climate-conscious contractual clauses, ensuring that sustainability is at the core of every business agreement.

We aim to seamlessly integrate climate considerations into corporate contracts, enabling businesses to:

  • Proactively address potential climate-related challenges within contractual frameworks.
  • Embed environmental responsibility into the fabric of business operations.
  • Align with evolving environmental regulations and stakeholder expectations.

Our initiative has already recruited more than 50 participants spanning a variety of sectors (private, public and non-profit), and more are joining weekly. The Village supports the work of The Chancery Lane Project a UK non-profit that drafts climate-conscious clauses for use in contracts, empowering organizations to embark on a transformative path towards achieving net-zero emissions.

Power of Community

Our mission is to build a coordinated Africa focused effort by lawyers and other professionals to accelerate the achievement of climate and Sustainable Development Goals.

The Village collaborates with stakeholders from civil society, the private sector, local communities, and governments, to accelerate the actions needed to achieve economic and social developments goals in support of the Paris Agreement.

The Village connects and aligns with, and amplifies initiatives that share this vision.
